The
caves
Toirano
is famous for its seventy extraordinary
limestone caves (on the left), which have been created by underground
rivers that millennium after millennium have slowly dried out leaving
wonderful stalactites and stalagmites and rare crystal flowers.
In the caves are also present remains of prehistoric bears and men.
The caves of Borgio Verezzi differ from those of Toirano for the strong
chromatic impact of red and yellow derived from a high concentration
of iron minerals.
